Columbia River Gorge, Silver Falls, and Ecola State Park are all popular draws due to their waterfalls and views, while the Willamette Valley’s hundreds of wineries are the ideal place to relax and unwind after enjoying some invigorating outdoor activities.
Just as special as all the state’s stupendous scenery and prominent volcanic peaks are its vibrant and youthful cities. While Portland and Eugene attract lots of visitors with their pretty settings, laidback vibe, and plethora of cultural events, Bend is the place to go if you want to enjoy the great outdoors. Salem, the state capital, is also well worth visiting for its many museums and architectural marvels while Cannon Beach on the coast boasts Haystack Rock – one of Oregon’s defining landmarks.
