Rovinj is a fishing port located on the west coast of the Istrian Peninsula in northern Croatia. Known for its Old Town, Rovinj is full of architectural gems from various historical periods – most notably, Venetian baroque buildings dot the town. The cobbled streets hide tiny squares with churches rising from the charming red rooves. Formerly an island, Rovinj was connected to the mainland under Venetian rule.
It’s easy to stay here; luxurious resorts are scattered along the coast and there are historic places to stay in the Old Town itself. But you can also find accommodation on one of the 14 islands of the Rovinj Archipelago, making for a more secluded getaway in one of their high-end beachfront hotels.
8. Hotel Eden
Hotel Eden is a great luxury option in Rovinj. Surrounded by gardens and natural scenery, it makes for a relaxing place to stay. It sits on the edge of the Zlatni Rt Park Forest, a century-old slice of parkland. Staying here means you can enjoy pampering at the spa center, splash around in one of three pools, or just chill out on Lulini Beach.
One of the hotel’s restaurants serves up Croatian delicacies, but there is a selection of other restaurants serving up international cuisine. The rooms at Hotel Eden are minimal and modern but designed with comfort in mind, and allow the sea views to take center stage.
7. B&B Villa Squero
The rooms at this hotel are painted in a calm grey and yellow color palette and come in a selection of sizes, some with balconies overlooking the water and the bustling street below. They also serve up a delicious breakfast each morning, which is a good way to start a day of exploration.
Just a few moments from the sea and close to Sveti Andrija Beach, Bed & Breakfast Villa Squero is also a short stroll from the charming old town of Rovinj. The location is convenient too: it is within easy walking distance of a bus stop, making it effortless to discover what lies in store in the surrounding area.
6. Hotel Lone
Nestled inside the Golden Cape Natural Park, Hotel Lone is an excellent place to base yourself if you want a slice of resort luxury that’s close to nature. Built in 2011, this hotel features high-end, modern rooms – chic and comfortable with stunning views of nature.
There is a wellness center, indoor and outdoor pool with sunbathing area, and many dining options; one of these is a sushi restaurant. Onsite guests who love nightlife won’t have to travel far because there is even a nightclub at Hotel Lone.

The Hotel Monte Mulini is set on a terrace by the sea and sits inside lush gardens overlooking the bay. It features an indoor and outdoor pool, as well as a gym and sauna. You can spend days here sipping on cocktails from the bar while swimming at Mulini Beach – practically part of the hotel itself – lapping up the sun, sea, and sand for yourself.
The rooms here are warmly decorated and feel relaxed and plush with their patterned carpets and balconies with sea views. Close to the resort is Rovinj marina, just a couple of minutes away by foot, as is Rovinj Old Town.

More of a traditional offering than others we’ve included, this hotel is set on Katarina Island but also features its fair share of luxury. Think arched windows with views of the sea and Rovinj Old Town, in rooms with rustic yet minimal décor featuring high ceilings and big, comfortable beds.
The large, historic building in which this hotel is located is partly made up of a former Austro-Hungarian castle for a real royal place to stay. Surrounded by the Zlatny Rt Park Forest, this hotel also boasts a large restaurant with a terraced eating area, as well as an outdoor pool to luxuriate in. Located on St Andrew’s Island, this hotel is positioned a 15-minute boat ride away from Rovinj, making it an oasis away from the busy streets, providing seclusion and relaxation. There’s plenty of natural space and beach to enjoy on the island, making it suitable for those who like to get out into nature.

Hotel Adriatic is set right in the heart of Rovinj Old Town, making for a great location, and comes with amazing views of St Catherine’s Island, Rovinj’s main town square, and the sea. 1. Hotel Angelo d’Oro
Set inside a former bishop’s palace that dates back to the 17th century, Hotel Angelo d’Oro is a boutique hotel right in the middle of the Old Town of Rovinj. Located on Via Svable, the hotel is designed in Venetian style to reflect the history of the building; it features exposed stone walls and high ceilings throughout.
There is a small rooftop loggia for breathtaking views of the Old Town rooftops and surrounding sea. The whole place is beautifully furnished, with rooms that ooze old world charm. Nearby, guests will find the 18th century baroque St Euphemia Church and the ornate 17th century Balbi Arch – to name just a couple of interesting sights in the vicinity.
